Eligibility and Certification

The most recent online offering of the Florida Rules and Ethics Certification Seminar and FPR Examination ended June 22, 2021.  The next offering for the FPR seminar and examination will be online in the fall/winter 2021.

Eligible persons who may sit for the FPR examination and the designations that will be received upon a score of 80 percent or above on the exam are as follows:

Stenographic Court Reporting Students Any student of stenographic court reporting may take the FPR™ exam, although certification is deferred pending proof of graduation from a court reporting program or entry into the practice of court reporting. Florida Professional
Reporter (Student)™
Scopists Any scopist actively providing services to the court reporting profession may take the FPR™ exam. Florida Professional
Owners/Managers Anyone involved in their professional capacity as a manager or owner in the court reporting profession may take the FPR™ exam. Florida Professional
Court Reporting Instructors Teachers of court reporting or anyone connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting a court reporting program may take the FPR™ exam. Florida Professional
